On Silence...

Think long and hard about people's silences. Whether our closest relations, closest friends, colleagues or passing strangers.

If someone in our lives is not speaking to us, before criticizing their behavior, we should be mindful and make an effort to meditate on the nature of our relationship with them in its entirety.
Friends, siblings, parents, if we are interpreting someone's silence as unkindness or ingratitude, flip the mirror,
and meditate on how we have shown unkindness or ingratitude towards them in the past.
While forgiveness and letting go is a step towards progress, growth and positivity, the silence or shutting out we are experiencing right now is basically an act of non-engagement from other side, because, whether we want to accept it or not, if someone in our life, is shutting us out, unkindness and ungratefulness has flowed from our side to theirs whether we intended it or not.
While gratitude is a one way, one-person, or personal act and it should be practiced and emanated from our souls and bodies everyday... kindness sometimes becomes a two-way act. Gratitude, kindness, and forgiveness are closely related to each other, almost entangled within each other. Forgiveness sometimes is a request to erase the hurt and suffering of others without any acknowledgement of their past and present experience. Kindness is equally complex and similar. Thoughts...?
